TUV HA'ARETZ
Hazon Community-Supported Agriculture Project
a partnership of

Congregations Aish Kodesh, Bonai Shalom and Nevei Kodesh,

The Adventure Rabbi, Pardes Levavot, and Congregation Har Hashem

with Red Wagon Organic Farm

Please consider becoming a member. Through Boulder's Tuv Ha'Aretz, a collaboration between Congregations Bonai Shalom, Nevei Kodesh and Aish Kodesh working with Hazon, you and your family can learn more about Judaism's long tradition of care for the earth, and at the same time enjoy local, fresh vegetables every week of the growing season from our organic partner, Red Wagon Organic Farm. Your membership actively supports sustainable agriculture here in Boulder.

Please email
boulderjewishcsa@gmail.com for applications.  You will receive two applications:

1.  One is for Tuv Ha'Aretz. Please fill out the information and enclose a check for $18, which will cover our administration costs as well as an entire growing-season's worth of educational programming. You and your family can participate in programs like:  recipes and cooking demonstrations, farmer's talks, nutrition, and Jewish teachings about sustainability and the sacredness of food in how it's grown, harvested, prepared and eaten. Tuv Ha'Aretz is a national, multi-denominational movement to create Jewish CSAs, and it means both "care for the Earth" and "the best from the Earth."

2. The second is for our partner farm, Red Wagon Organic Farm. The farmers will plant based on subscriptions, so please do fill out the information, and attach a second check for either a share, or a large share.

You will need to write two checks.

The first to "Red Wagon Organic Farm" for the total amount from their form; this total includes your share, fruit share and any donation you care to make to Sharing the Harvest.

The second check for $18 should be made out to Congregation Bonai Shalom.  Please write TH in the memo line.  Return by February 17, 2010 to ensure your share.
What will you get? You'll get seasonal organic produce. Lettuce, greens, beans, tomatoes, herbs, peppers, melons, cukes – if you've been the Boulder Farmer's market, you know what to expect. As food ripens, it's harvested and brought to Bonai Shalom for weekly pickup. A share feeds 2 – 4 people. A large share feeds 4 – 6. For more detailed information, go to  http://www.redwagonorganicfarm.com/CSA.htm

Split-Share Option.  If you'd like a half-share, find a partner to split produce with. Each of you will need to fill out a Tuv Ha'Aretz membership form ($18 each), but only ONE of you needs to fill out the Red Wagon Farm form. (We will try to help those who can't find partners.)

Tuv Ha'Aretz members share a concern that all members of our local community have access to fresh food. With that in mind, any extra produce not picked up will be donated to those in need.

It's our intention to bring the growing cycle closer to our everyday life. As global environmental and economic situations continue to change, we believe we can create a world where we are all more deeply connected to each other, and the planet. As a Tuv Ha'Aretz member, you'll be personally involved. Visit the farm, and volunteer for at least one pick-up shift during the season.

DEADLINES:
February 17, 2010 – Deadline for three partner congregation members to sign up. (After that, it's first come, first serve for the entire community until all the spots are filled.)
