CASS GOTTLIEB 

COMMITTEE CO-CHAIR

 

Cass and Shel Gottlieb moved from Baltimore to Boulder in September 2020 and joined Bonai that December. Cass has been a licensed architect for over 40 years and recently retired as Principal of Michael Graves Architecture. She has been involved in the Jewish community for as long as she has practiced architecture and has served nationally on the Boards of Hillel International and RAVSAK and as Board Chair of JESNA. In Baltimore, Cass was active for many years on the Boards of The Associated Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore and the Pearlstone Center (now Pearlstone/Hazon) and served as President of four Federation agencies, including Johns Hopkins University Hillel. During her tenure as Board Chair of Beth Tfiloh Congregation, she was responsible for $20 million in new construction and renovation projects for the synagogue and its day school. Cass is a “graduate” of Leadership Maryland and the Wexner Heritage Program and was recognized as one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women. Cass and Shel have 3 grandchildren in Boulder and 4 in Pardes Hana, Israel.


 

DANIEL AIZENMAN

COMMITTEE CO-CHAIR

 

Daniel Aizenman is the Director of Development and Design at Conscience Bay Company. He is responsible for the design, entitlements and execution of new and existing real estate developments, and strategic positioning of all real estate assets. Previously, Daniel was the Senior Principal and Practice Leader for the Stantec Buildings and ViBE groups in Colorado, where he oversaw the vision, design and execution for multiple mixed-use developments, sports and entertainment districts, arenas, urban districts, shopping experience, restaurants, hotels, and corporate offices, nationally and in over 15 countries. He has over 20 years of experience in visioning, planning, urban design, architecture, interior design, branding and graphic design, environmental graphics and wayfinding, sustainable design, and placemaking.

 

Daniel earned a Master of Architecture from Texas A&M University. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree in from the Instituto Superior de Arquitectura in Mexico City, and the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, in Haifa, Israel. He serves on the Colorado University Real Estate Center International Advisory Board, ULI’s Resort, Entertainment, Tourism and Leisure Council, and the Better Boulder Board of Directors, anon-profit organization that advocates for creating vibrant, livable, and connected communities through land use planning and policy. Daniel’s projects have won multiple national and international awards from ULI and ICSC

Daniel has been a resident of Boulder for 20 years. In fact, Daniel met his wife, Hillary Cohn, at Bonai Shalom 17 years ago at a Rosh Hashana oneg, and  then got married by Rabbi Marc 15 years ago. They now have two daughters, Alex who is 8, and Lia who is 5. Daniel would like for the synagogue to be ready in time to celebrate either one of their Bat-Mitzvah’s. He owes a great deal of happiness to Bonai and would like to give back.






 

JEFF GAN LEVY

COMMITTEE LIASION TO PROJECT LEADERSHIP TEAM

 

Jeff has over 20 years of real estate industry experience and in that time has played many different roles from redevelopment officer with the City of Sacramento (CA), to underwriter with a national affordable housing tax credit syndicator, to real estate consultant, commercial real estate broker, and real estate investor.  Jeff is also an experienced lay leader in the Jewish community.  He currently serves as the Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Jewish Studio Project.  Past roles have also included creating, organizing, and leading the Bay Area Eco Tu B’Shvat Seder, serving as the Chair for the Temple Emanu-El (San Francisco) Young Adult Committee, serving on the Alumni Relations Committee for AJWS in the San Francisco Bay Area, and serving on an executive committee to organize the 2009 Hazon Food Conference.  Jeff received master’s degrees in city planning and real estate development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has an undergraduate degree in economics and city planning from the University of California at Berkeley.  Jeff moved to Boulder with his now wife, Becca (Weaver) Gan Levy, in December 2013 and has enjoyed being a member at Bonai Shalom ever since.  Jeff and Becca have three kids – Avital (5), Oren (22 months), and Erez (22 months) – and one furry, lovable dependent – Frisco (7 ½).
