Managing Stress and Anxiety in Difficult Times
Thursday, January 18, 2024 • 8 Shevat 5784
7:00 PM - 8:30 PMIn Person & on ZoomPresented by Dr. Alisha Brosse, Licensed Psychologist
Although it may seem as if events and circumstances drive stress and anxiety, our distress is also very much a product of how we think about and react to these external influences. In this introductory session, Dr. Brosse will help you understand the bidirectional relationship between thoughts, behaviors and feelings. She will teach several strategies to help you better manage stress and anxiety by changing how you think and what you do in response. These strategies and the model are based on a combination of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Finally, Dr. Brosse will explain how the other tools taught throughout this series (e.g., self-compassion, self-soothing, yoga, spirituality) fit into this integrative model, so that you can more easily remember and choose between the tools in times of distress.
