If you’ve been yearning to write but never seem to have the time, or if you’re interested in writing with other creatives, you’ll now have a space and time to put pen to paper. Starting March 19, 2020,  Rabbi Marc and Barbra Cohn will be leading a biweekly writing circle at Bonai on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30. No judgments, no critiquing, just friendly support . We’ll be using Natalie Goldberg’s device of short meditations followed by timed writings with suggested prompts (Writing Down the Bones), and then will read what we’ve written. If you don’t want to share, no problem. The only rules are: 1) bring a favorite pen and journal or notebook (no computers, please), 2) put pen to paper and write non-stop without editing, and 3) come with an open heart and mind.
Rabbi Marc Soloway writes sermons, blogs and podcasts and has been a student of Natalie Goldberg’s on two writing retreats in Santa Fe.
Barbra Cohn has a master’s degree in writing, and is an author and writer. She has been leading a writing circle for many years, and is always in awe of what emerges on the page after just 20 minutes of non-stop writing.
