Rabbi Kalonymus Kalman Shapira (1889-1943), also known by the name of his signature work Esh Kodesh (Holy Fire), was a Hasidic rabbi in the Warsaw ghetto who tragically perished in the Holocaust in 1943. His story is of a man who was a giant among men, a rabbi for all times, and an inspiration for many people in the darkest of times. The story of how his works made it out of the ghetto is an inspiration. In this two-part class we will visit his story and explore some of his works. His love and faith in God in dark times is a beacon of hope for us all.
