Our annual Pirkei Avot series returns! Meeting every Wednesday between Pesach and Shavuot. Avot is Mishna that deals with ethical behavior, containing moral and practical teachings and exhortations of about sixty sages whose lives embraced nearly five centuries. Each week, a different teacher will provide insight, reflection, and space to learn. Stay tuned for a list of teachers! -

Every Thursday morning we hold a traditional shacharit service, with a short Torah reading, followed by some learning and a light breakfast. Services run just over one hour and are led by the rabbi and lay leaders. This minyan has a lovely, warm atmosphere and provides a vital forum for members and guests who are saying kaddish. Together, they'll explore the complex intersections of Jewish and Israeli identity, the contrasts between socialist and capitalist societies, and how educational systems - and the values they reflect - differ between the two countries. -

Much is going on worldwide that saddens us. This series of classes will study the Book of Lamentations, which mourns the destruction of Jerusalem. We will discuss scholarly theories and contemplate the writing's attitude towards grief, God, and the problem of evil. Feel free to read ahead on Sefaria before class and to drop in even if you’ve missed previous classes.
